Hiking - Walking: Polstead to Stoke-by-Nayland Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: 8 Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: 5 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
At last things are getting a bit warmer !!! we have had the most fantastic
NE winds here in Felixstowe for the last week but just too cold to go
windsurfing :( now the sun has come out and it's a balmy 8 degrees the wind
drops !!! so it's on with the walking boots and we head inland again to
discover the joys of Suffolk :) We start as usual with breakfast at
Levington Marina before heading the 30 odd miles to Polstead a lovely small
village near Hadliegh. We park by the pond and start off heading up to
Polstead church - they even have a nice loo :) and then head down the hill
towards Stoke-by-Nayland passing a feild of sheep with lots of new lambs :)
The countryside here is quite hilly for Suffolk and we pass an amazing old
water mill with lovely gardens and a swimming pool - how the other half
live and lots of friendly pigs :) We make it to Stoke-by-Nayland and head
to the large church and have our picnic sitting in the sun :) After a quick
look around the church we head out of Stoke past the Crown Pub built in
1530 !!! past even more new lambs, past a huge house with a dove coot and
across parkland with a lake and swans returning to the van for tea and cake
and liston to the radio where Ipswich beat Derby 1-0 they were very lucky
!!! We then head over to Hadliegh for a lovely tea with the Cutts :) and
Pete gives me a lesson in Photoshopping !!! So a top day in the sunshine
:)
